Pillar 01 — Screening

The Most Rigorous Screening in the Industry

LINK’s 9-Step Employee Selection System℠ is a proprietary screening process that goes far beyond a standard interview and background check. It was developed over 45+ years of placing industrial and professional candidates, and it is the reason employers return to LINK.

The system is not one-size-fits-all. For industrial placements, the 9-Step includes LINK’s LOPE® (LINK Occupational Pre-Employment Evaluation) — a conditional reasoning assessment that identifies behavioral tendencies before a candidate ever reaches your facility. It also includes role-specific skill-proficiency testing, industry-specific interviews conducted by recruiters who understand your sector, and a Job-Matching Cultural Fit Program where LINK account managers visit your location to assess the work environment and match candidates to it.

For business support and administrative placements, the system adapts. Statistically validated office skills tests replace physical assessments. Competency-based interviews evaluate experience and aptitude for professional roles. The rigor stays the same — the tools change to match the placement.

For direct hire and executive search, the 9-Step philosophy adapts into a consultative recruitment methodology where the same screening discipline applies at a deeper level — calibrated to the seniority and complexity of the role.

Every industrial candidate also undergoes drug screening (where applicable by law) and criminal background checks. Candidates who do not meet the standard do not advance. The system protects your operation by filtering for competence, reliability, and fit — not just availability.

Pillar 02 — Safety

Safety That Starts Before Day One

LINK’s 360° Safe Environment Program℠ is a proprietary safety framework built for light industrial environments. It is not a checklist. It is an eight-component system that covers every stakeholder in the employment process — your managers, your facility, LINK’s recruiters, and the candidates themselves.

Before LINK places a single worker at your facility, a dedicated Risk Ambassador conducts a pre-assignment site safety tour — at no charge. The tour identifies hazards, assesses protocols, and reviews your safety manuals. LINK’s team delivers a written findings report and works with your site leadership to align conditions before any placement begins.

Once placements are active, the program continues. LINK provides industry-specific safety training and certifications for candidates. LINK’s recruiters are OSHA-trained in the same standards your operation follows.

LINK’s Safety Ambassadors and Loss Control Specialists are available 24/7 for guidance on injury claims, incident response, and risk minimization. For employers who want to build internal safety capacity, LINK offers Train-the-Trainer programs that certify your employees in industry-specific safety standards.

Pillar 03 — Veterans

A Dedicated Commitment to Veteran Employment

LINKCORPS™ is a division of LINK that provides veterans and their spouses access to LINK’s full resources, clients, and placement network. It is not a marketing program. It is a structured employment pathway that connects military-trained professionals with employers who value discipline, adaptability, and technical skill.

Veterans bring training that transfers directly to industrial and skilled trades environments — logistics, maintenance, electronics, welding, heavy equipment operation, quality control, and leadership under pressure. LINKCORPS™ exists because returning to civilian employment requires more than a resume upload. It requires a partner who understands how military experience translates to civilian roles — and who has the employer relationships to make the placement.

LINK recruits veterans for temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct hire positions across all the industries LINK serves. For employers, hiring through LINKCORPS™ means gaining access to a talent pool that has already been trained to standards most civilian workers never encounter.

What to Ask Before You Hire a Staffing Agency

Not every staffing agency operates the same way. Before you sign a contract, ask these questions. The answers will tell you whether you are hiring a vendor or a partner.

The Question to AskLINK’s Answer
Do you screen and test candidates for behavioral fit, work ethic, and reliability — not just skills?Yes — LOPE® assessment
Do you test every candidate’s proficiency in the specific skills required for the role?Yes — role-specific testing
Do you visit my facility before placing workers to assess safety and culture?Yes — free pre-assignment site tour
Do you provide ongoing safety training, not just orientation?Yes — OSHA 10, PIT, certifications
Are your recruiters trained in OSHA standards?Yes — OSHA-trained recruiting staff
Do you conduct drug screening and background checks on all candidates?Yes — standard protocol
Do you have a cultural fit matching program?Yes — on-site cultural assessment
Do you offer 24/7 safety support and loss control guidance?Yes — Safety Ambassadors on call
Do you have a dedicated veteran employment program?Yes — LINKCORPS™
Can you provide train-the-trainer certification for my team?Yes — industry-specific programs
Are you a certified diverse supplier (WBENC)?Yes — WBENC-certified WBE
Do you adapt your screening process based on industrial vs. professional placements?Yes — two distinct 9-Step tracks
If a staffing agency cannot answer yes to most of these questions, they are filling seats — not protecting your operation. LINK can answer yes to all of them because these capabilities are not add-ons. They are the system LINK was built on.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes LINK Staffing different from other staffing agencies?
LINK’s differentiation is built on three trademarked systems few competitors can match: the 9-Step Employee Selection System℠ (which includes the proprietary LOPE® behavioral assessment and Functional Assessment Program®), the LINK 360° Safe Environment Program℠, and the LINKCORPS™ veteran employment program. These are methodologies developed over 45+ years of placing industrial, skilled trades, and professional candidates in Texas.
How does LINK screen candidates before placing them?
Every candidate goes through LINK’s 9-Step Employee Selection System℠, which includes behavioral assessment (LOPE®), role-specific skill testing, industry-specific interviews, drug screening, background checks, and a Job-Matching Cultural Fit Program. The process adapts depending on whether the placement is industrial, professional, or executive.
Does LINK offer workplace safety programs for employers?
Yes. The LINK 360° Safe Environment Program℠ includes pre-assignment site safety tours, hazard identification, candidate safety training, OSHA certifications, Train-the-Trainer programs, and 24/7 access to Safety Ambassadors and Loss Control Specialists.
What is the 9-Step Employee Selection System?
LINK’s trademarked candidate screening process. The full breakdown is available on the 9-Step deep-dive page. In summary: it evaluates work history, behavioral tendencies (via LOPE®), role-specific skills, cultural fit, drug screening, background checks, safety readiness, and client-specific requirements. The business support version adapts with office skills tests and competency-based interviews.
Does LINK have a veteran hiring program?
Yes. LINKCORPS™ is a division of LINK that provides veterans and their spouses access to LINK’s full placement network for temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct hire positions.
Is LINK Staffing WBENC-certified?
Yes. LINK Staffing is certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council as a Women’s Business Enterprise, qualifying as a diverse supplier for companies with supplier diversity requirements.
What should I ask a staffing agency before hiring them?
Ask whether they screen for behavioral tendencies (not just skills), whether they visit your facility before placing workers, whether they offer ongoing safety training, whether their recruiters are OSHA-trained, whether they have a cultural fit matching process, and whether they adapt their screening for different industries. These questions separate genuine staffing partners from agencies that fill open positions.
Does LINK adapt its screening process for different industries?
Yes. The 9-Step Employee Selection System℠ operates on distinct tracks. Industrial placements include LOPE® behavioral assessment and physical capability evaluation. Business support placements use office skills tests and competency-based interviews. Direct hire and executive search apply the same screening philosophy at a consultative level calibrated to role seniority. The core rigor is the same — the tools are calibrated for the role.
