CNC/LATHE OPERATOR 

Salary(DOE) 

Schedule: Monday through Saturday

2nd Shift -Hours are 5 PM to 5 AM ( Need to be flexible with working OT, including weekends when required)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position is accountable for accurate, efficient, and timely operation of Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machinery in a production environment while always ensuring safe working conditions at all times that lead to manufacturing a quality product.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aware at all times of correct orientation of product being placed in CNC machine

  • Loads and unloads parts

  • Monitors and changes cutting tools (inserts) as needed

  • Set jaws to diameter on blue prints

  • Performs basic dimensional inspection of product when required

  • Operates equipment in constant high production environment

  • Stops cycle of equipment as needed, through use of push buttons and levers

  • Removes metal shavings/chips from equipment in a safe manner

  • Interprets blueprints, drawings and work instructions

  • Follows quality requirements and ensures high level of quality in machined parts

  • Housekeeping of machine and surrounding area

  • Daily inspection and maintenance of machine

  • Follow company policies and procedures

  • Support and/or participate in the organization’s Continuous Improvement Programs

  • Proactively participates in Safety Program

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Knowledge of the use of measuring tools such as scales, micrometers and calipers

  • Able to read and understand blue prints

  • Able to touch off x and y axis for lathe

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal

  • Good knowledge of machining processes and procedures

  • Ability to understand and use basic mathematics

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements

  • Knowledge of materials and specifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

  • Team oriented and the ability to operate with a diverse group

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • 1+ years of experience in operation of CNC Lathe/Mills, preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, bending, sitting, lifting up to 30#, squatting and walking for 8 to 10 hours per day.

  • Exposure to Production Environment on a daily basis.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, bending, sitting, lifting to 30#, squatting and walking for 8 to 10 hours per day.
